St Mary's Episcopal Church, Aberfoyle
Data Protection

Need for Change in procedure

As you may know there are some changes to the Data Protection legislation which come into effect on 25th May 2018.

There are some changes required to the way the Church treats any data held about you.

In the past we have been collecting an email address from members of the congregation so that we can communicate easily with you by email, by sending you news letters and bulletins (including fund raising), and inform you of concerts and  events.

At present, we store your email address in an account on Mailchimp.  Your address, telephone number and email address are stored in a Database held by the Secretary.  The Rector keeps other records.

Whilst you have been receiving email messages from us with an option to 'unsubscribe', which you could exercise at any time, the new legislation requires you now to 'opt in' positively.

If you wish to continue to receive emails and postal communications from the Church, we now ask you to OPT IN for both emails and post.

If you do not take action NOW you will be removed from our lists.

St Mary’s Aberfoyle is a Registered Scottish Charity, No SC02326
